Hyderabad, September 26, 2025 — In a major push towards skilling youth for next-generation industries, the Government of Telangana inaugurated 65 Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) across the state on Friday. These centres, converted from existing Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), will train students in cutting-edge domains such as robotics, automation, electric vehicles, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

What the ATCs Will Offer

  • Modern Skill Training: Courses aligned with future technologies like EVs, drones, robotics, 3D printing, and AI.
  • Industry Collaboration: Partnerships with leading tech and manufacturing companies to ensure hands-on training.
  • Infrastructure Upgrade: Existing ITIs have been modernized with new labs, equipment, and digital learning tools.
  • Inclusive Access: Youth from rural as well as urban areas will be able to access high-tech skill training at affordable cost.

Why This Matters

Telangana has been positioning itself as a hub for emerging industries, particularly in EV manufacturing, aerospace, and electronics. By setting up ATCs, the state aims to create a future-ready workforce that can support industries demanding high-end skills.

Officials noted that traditional ITI training often fell short of market requirements, with many graduates struggling to find employment. The ATCs are designed to bridge this gap by offering 21st-century vocational training that is directly relevant to industry needs.

CareerVarta Takeaway

For students and job-seekers, Telangana’s ATCs represent a golden opportunity:

  1. Learn In-Demand Skills: Robotics, EVs, AI, and automation are sectors projected to grow rapidly.
  2. Affordable Pathways: Training at government centres is more cost-effective than private institutes.
  3. Boost Employability: Certification from ATCs can give candidates an edge in job markets.
  4. Entrepreneurship Potential: Skills like 3D printing and IoT can open doors for startups and self-employment.
