The ITEP is a bold step toward professionalizing teacher education. By replacing outdated B.Ed programs with a 4-year integrated course, it aims to offer better content, early classroom exposure, and alignment with the NEP 2025 goals. If implemented well, it can attract talented students right after 12th, reduce dropout rates in teacher training, and improve teaching quality. However, success depends on curriculum design, faculty training, and infrastructure support. ITEP has great potential to uplift the teaching profession—but real impact will come from execution, not just policy.
