Many students repeat the exam multiple times or invest heavily in coaching, making it difficult for those from underprivileged backgrounds. While a single national exam ensures standardization, it may not fully reflect a student’s potential. India should explore balanced alternatives—like multi-stage assessments, board exam weightage, or aptitude-based screening—to reduce pressure and make medical education more inclusive and holistic.
