About the RDI Scheme
The RDI Scheme aims to create a robust ecosystem that supports scientific research, technological innovation, and product development. It will provide low or zero-interest loans to universities, research institutions, and startups, enabling them to undertake projects in areas such as artificial intelligence, clean energy, biotechnology, advanced materials, and defense innovation.
The initiative reflects the government’s vision to position India as a global leader in science and technology while fostering homegrown solutions to societal and industrial challenges.
Focus Areas and Implementation
The RDI Scheme will focus on:
