The National Informatics Centre (NIC), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has launched the NIC Internship Scheme for young students to gain real-world experience in digital governance, data analytics, and e-governance projects. This initiative aims to nurture technical talent and encourage student participation in India’s digital transformation journey.
About the Internship
The internship provides an opportunity for students to work on ongoing government digital projects, offering them hands-on exposure to cutting-edge technologies and practical problem-solving. The program is designed to develop technical, analytical, and innovation skills among participants.
To promote diversity and inclusion, female students are given priority in the selection process, especially in technology and data-related domains.
Stipend and Duration
Selected interns will receive a stipend of ₹10,000 per month along with valuable mentorship from NIC professionals.
The duration of the internship ranges from six weeks to three months, depending on the project requirements. The program is typically conducted between June and August every year.
Eligibility Criteria
Students pursuing B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, M.Sc (Computer Science/IT), or equivalent degrees from recognized institutions are eligible to apply. Applicants must have a strong interest in digital technologies, programming, and government IT systems.
