In a move aimed at empowering meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds, Muthoot Finance has announced the launch of the ninth edition of its Muthoot M George Higher Education Scholarship for the academic year 2025-26.
Key Highlights
- A total of 210 scholarships will be awarded across select regions, aimed at students who have secured admission in one of the professional courses: MBBS, B.Tech or B.Sc Nursing.
- The programme targets students residing in Kerala, and major Indian cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata.
- The last date to apply is 30 November 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Secure at least 90% marks or equivalent grade in the Class 12 (or equivalent) qualifying examination
- Annual family income should not exceed ₹ 2 lakh.
- Must have obtained admission for the academic year 2025-26 into one of the eligible professional courses (MBBS / B.Tech / B.Sc Nursing) in a recognised institution.
- While applying, candidates must select the region corresponding to their permanent place of residence, and not simply the location of their college.
Scholarship Amount & Distribution
- Each selected MBBS student will receive ₹ 2.40 lakh.
- Each selected B.Tech or B.Sc Nursing student will receive ₹ 1.20 lakh.
- From each eligible location/region, 10 students per stream (MBBS, B.Tech, B.Sc Nursing) will be selected — i.e., 30 students per region.
Application Process
- Visit the official portal: mgmscholarship.muthootgroup.com.
- Register as a new student and fill in required details (email ID, mobile, date of birth etc.).
- Upload necessary documents such as:
- Class 12 mark sheet
- Proof of admission into the course
- Income certificate
- Passport size photograph
- Recommendation letter (from a community leader / local VIP) — as specified.

Professional courses like MBBS, B.Tech and Nursing are expensive and out of reach for many bright students from financially constrained families. With its scholarship initiative, Muthoot Finance is attempting to bridge that gap by providing both merit-based and need-based assistance, thereby enabling deserving students to pursue their higher education without undue financial burden.
