The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has announced its Internship Programme 2025, providing young Indian students with an exclusive opportunity to gain practical insights into foreign policy, diplomacy, and international relations. This initiative allows participants to experience firsthand how India engages with the global community through its diplomatic missions and policy framework.
About the Internship
The MEA Internship Programme aims to familiarize students with the functioning of the Ministry, offering exposure to foreign policy formulation, research, and international cooperation. The program helps bridge the gap between academic learning and the practical world of diplomacy and global affairs.
To promote inclusivity, 30% of the total seats are reserved for women candidates, encouraging greater participation of women in policy and foreign affairs.
Duration and Stipend
The internship duration ranges from one to two months, typically conducted between January and March each year.
Selected interns will receive a stipend of ₹10,000 per month along with a certificate of completion from the Ministry of External Affairs.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be Indian citizens up to the age of 25 years.
- Candidates should be graduating students or in the final year of their postgraduate degree from a recognized university.
- A strong academic background and interest in foreign policy, diplomacy, or international studies are desirable.
