The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, have invited applications for their prestigious Joint PhD Programme. This initiative aims to foster international research collaboration and provide scholars with world-class academic exposure across both institutions.
About the Programme
The IIT Delhi–UQ Joint PhD Programme offers students an opportunity to pursue collaborative, globally recognized research under the mentorship of faculty from both universities. Scholars will spend time at both campuses, gaining access to advanced laboratories, diverse research resources, and global academic networks.
The programme focuses on multidisciplinary areas such as engineering, computer science, energy, environment, materials science, and biomedical research, encouraging innovation and real-world problem-solving.
Funding and Support
Selected candidates will receive generous financial support, including tuition fee waivers and living allowances. Students may also be eligible for travel grants and research funding to support their stay at the partner university.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must hold a master’s degree or a first-class bachelor’s degree (for direct PhD entry) in a relevant discipline.

- English proficiency as per UQ’s and IIT Delhi’s guidelines is mandatory.
