New Delhi | December 2025
With the completion of the answer key objection process, attention has now shifted to the much-awaited CAT 2025 results. Conducted by IIM Kozhikode, the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 was held on November 30 across multiple shifts, witnessing participation from lakhs of MBA aspirants nationwide.
Once declared, candidates will be able to view and download their CAT 2025 scorecards from the official website — iimcat.ac.in. Although no official result date has been announced yet, past trends indicate that the results are likely to be released in mid-December. Notably, CAT 2024 results were declared on December 19.
Answer Key Review Process Concluded
The CAT Centre released the final answer keys on December 17, officially closing the objection review phase. Candidates were allowed to raise objections between December 8 and December 10, during which 187 objections were received across all three sections — VARC, DILR, and Quantitative Ability — and across all exam shifts.
Earlier, provisional answer keys and individual response sheets were made available on December 4. All objections were examined by expert panels appointed by CAT authorities before the final answer keys were issued.
What Happens After CAT 2025 Results?
Following the declaration of results, the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) will initiate their shortlisting process for the next admission stage. Each IIM follows its own selection criteria, considering factors such as CAT percentile, academic profile, work experience, and diversity parameters.
Shortlisted candidates will receive interview call letters through the official websites of respective IIMs. Aspirants are advised to regularly check admission portals for updates related to interview schedules and selection guidelines.
IIM Admission Rounds Explained
Candidates shortlisted by IIMs may be required to appear for one or more of the following evaluation stages:
- Writing Ability Test (WAT)
- Group Discussion (GD)
- Personal Interview (PI)
The combination and weightage of these rounds vary across institutes.
How CAT Scores and Percentiles Are Calculated
CAT follows a standardised normalisation process to ensure fairness across multiple exam sessions. Scaled scores are calculated separately for:
- Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC)
- Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR)
- Quantitative Ability (QA)
The overall scaled score is derived by adding sectional scores. Percentiles are calculated by ranking candidates based on scaled scores across all sessions.
The percentile formula used is:
Percentile = (N – r) / N × 100
where N is the total number of candidates and r is the candidate’s rank.
CAT Website Functional, Result Date Awaited
After facing a brief technical issue earlier, the official CAT website is now fully functional. However, authorities have not yet released any official notification regarding the exact date or time of the CAT 2025 result declaration.
Candidates are advised to stay alert and keep checking -> iimcat.ac.in for the latest updates.
