Lucknow, August 19, 2025 — In a landmark move to nurture global leadership, the Uttar Pradesh government—under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath—has inaugurated the “Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee-Chevening Uttar Pradesh State Government Scholarship Scheme”. This ambitious initiative, launched today, will annually send five meritorious UP students to study for a master’s degree in the United Kingdom, fully funded through a strategic partnership with the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO)
Over the next three academic years—2025-26 through 2027-28—each selected student will receive comprehensive support covering tuition, research and exam fees, a monthly living allowance, and round-trip economy airfare The Times of India+1. The total scholarship value per student is estimated between £38,048 and £42,076 (approximately ₹45–48 lakh), with roughly £19,800 (₹23 lakh) borne by the UP government, and the remaining funded by the UK’s FCDO
