“We’re living in an age where a 16-year-old with the right tools and attitude can out-earn a postgraduate. The idea that a 4-year degree guarantees success is no longer valid,” Kamath stated. “The future belongs to those who can adapt, reskill, and create value—not just those with a certificate.”

Kamath’s comments echo broader concerns shared in the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025, which forecasts that nearly 44% of core skills required across jobs will change by 2030. According to recent NASSCOM data, over 48% of Indian graduates remain unemployed or underemployed, largely due to a mismatch between academic content and industry needs.
